Just yesterday, we witnessed the shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. The gunman, identified as Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, was a former Army National Guardsman who had previously been convicted in 2016 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS and had served more than a decade in federal prison before being released in 2024. Authorities say Jalloh, a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Sierra Leone, opened fire inside Constant Hall, killing one person and injuring two others before he was ultimately stopped and killed. The attack is now rightfully being investigated as a potential act of terrorism and raises serious questions about how someone with a known history of supporting ISIS was able to return and carry out violence on an American campus.

Also on Thursday, at Temple Israel—a large Reform synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan—a male suspect intentionally rammed a pickup truck through the front doors and into the building causing the vehicle to catch fire and fill the area with smoke. The attacker, armed with a rifle, exchanged gunfire with on-site security personnel after breaching the interior (driving down a hallway in some accounts). Security fatally shot the suspect, who was later confirmed dead. One security guard was injured after being struck by the vehicle but is expected to recover. The FBI is involved in the ongoing investigation into the motive and suspect’s identity, with reports of possible explosives found in the vehicle. The details of this “act of violence” are still unfolding at this time, but the message is clear.

This follows the events of last Saturday, where two young men from the suburbs of Pennsylvania decided to wage war on their own country. Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, both U.S. citizens, drove into Manhattan carrying homemade bombs loaded with the same volatile explosive that jihadists have used to slaughter innocents around the world. They targeted a lawful protest called “Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City, Stop New York City Public Muslim Prayer.” About twenty brave souls had gathered to speak the truth about the radical ideology flooding our streets and our institutions.

These two Americans shouted “Allahu Akbar,” and hurled their IEDs directly into the crowd. They told police afterward they were aligned with the Islamic State. The bombs failed to explode. No one died this time. But make no mistake: American citizens tried to murder American citizens for the crime of opposing Islamic conquest in our greatest city. In fact, it was reported that they intended for the attack to be larger in scale than the Boston Marathon bombing.

This is not foreign terrorism sneaking across a border. This is homegrown. These were our neighbors’ sons, radicalized right here on American soil, choosing the black flag of ISIS over the Stars and Stripes. And now their lawyers are attempting to claim that, due to their age, they didn’t know what they were doing.

Terrorism is not new. Just this past Sunday, a powerful bomb ripped through the entrance of the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway — a “terror bombing,” authorities called it, intended “to take lives or cause significant damage.” Norwegian police arrested three brothers, all Norwegian citizens in their twenties with Iraqi heritage. The blast caused damage but no casualties. Yet the pattern is unmistakable: radical ideology, whether it strikes in Manhattan or Oslo, is relentless.

What has changed — and what should terrify every freedom-loving American — is the rise of homegrown terror. We are no longer just fighting enemies abroad. We are fighting enemies we ourselves have raised, nourished, and refused to confront.

Instead of facing this reality, some in the media chose lies. CNN’s Ana Navarro and Abby Phillip rushed onto airwaves to declare the NYC incident an “attempted terror attack against” Mayor Zohran Mamdani — painting the jihadists as victims of “Islamophobia” and the protesters as the real villains. They had to issue humiliating corrections and public apologies because the facts were devastating: the bombs were thrown at anti-Islam demonstrators, not at the mayor’s residence. The attackers were ISIS fanatics, not right-wing extremists. Twisting the truth to protect a narrative only empowers the enemy and endangers us all.

And while we’re talking about inconvenient truths, let us speak plainly about what happened in American mosques just weeks ago. As the free world breathed easier after the elimination of Ayatollah Khamenei — one of the most blood-soaked tyrants on earth, a man who crushed women, hanged dissidents, and funded Hamas and Hezbollah — mosques in Manassas, Virginia, and Dearborn Heights, Michigan, held formal memorial services. They called him “our leader.” They mourned his “martyrdom.” They gathered for potluck iftars and eulogies while Americans wept for the loss of a man who embodied everything antithetical to individual liberty.

As we witnessed this weekend, their carnage knows no borders.

Germany’s Munich car-ramming in February, that injured over three dozen people (two later died, including a two-year-old), followed the Christmas Market attack in December ’24 that killed six. This year France marked the 2015 Paris attacks’ 10th anniversary amid a 70% spike in under-21 jihadist arrests—subway and prison plots barely thwarted. In Syria, a December 14th ambush, by a likely ISIS-inspired shooter, killed two U.S. troops and an interpreter near Palmyra. This is capped off with the unfathomable massacre in Australia just days ago. The list could go on and on.

This mirrors President Biden’s absurd fabrications: claiming Puerto Rican heritage, posing as a tough Irish kid from the hood, boasting of arrests during civil rights protests or in South Africa to visit Mandela, and even inventing a Naval Academy appointment or a truck-driving stint—all lies.

Newsom, raised in the lap of California’s elite Newsom-Pelosi-Getty dynasty, similarly crafts a false everyman persona to mask his privileged roots, aiming to charm voters while pushing Proposition 50 to rig electoral maps for partisan gain. Such calculated lies, echoing Biden’s, reveal a willingness to deceive for power, threaten fair elections, and expose Newsom’s unfitness for the White House.

In a cringeworthy bid for street cred, California Governor Gavin Newsom recently spun a tale of rags-to-riches grit on the NBA podcast All the Smoke, hosted by Black ex-players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes.

“I raised myself,” he boasted, evoking images of a latchkey kid scraping by on Wonder Bread, mac ‘n’ cheese, and PB&J, “hustlin’” with “two and a half jobs” for his single mom while fraying basketballs against the backyard wall. The performance—complete with a faux-hip-hop drawl—drew instant mockery, likened to Kamala Harris’s infamous accent switches, is a shameless ploy to bond with Black hosts and voters, painting Newsom as “one of them” amid California’s racial tensions.

It’s Scarry, how easily he lies!

Newsom’s childhood was a far cry from urban struggle. Born in 1967 to Tessa Menzies and William Alfred Newsom III—a powerhouse judge and Getty Oil family attorney—Gavin grew up in San Francisco’s elite circles. His grandfather, William Newsom II, was a close confidant to oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, forging ties that granted young Gavin access to private schools, trust funds, and political grooming. Far from “payin’ the bills,” the Newsoms hobnobbed with California’s ruling clans: the Browns, Pelosis, and Gettys. Newsom’s aunt Barbara married Ron Pelosi (Nancy’s brother-in-law), making the House Speaker a quasi-aunt by marriage until their 1977 divorce. Godparent swaps with the Gettys and Harrises cemented this web of influence, spanning decades of backroom deals from Pat Brown’s governorship to Jerry Brown’s Olympic concessions awarded to Newsom kin.

These families have long puppeteered Golden State politics, blending bloodlines, marriages, and money to entrench Democratic dominance. William Newsom III’s judgeship, courtesy of Jerry Brown, and Getty-backed ventures launched Gavin’s wine business and mayoral run. It’s a dynasty where “hustle” means yacht parties, not frayed Spaldings.

Newsom’s comfort with deception doesn’t stop at personal myth-making.

Enter Proposition 50, his November 4, 2025, ballot ploy—a legislatively referred constitutional amendment to suspend the voter-established Citizens Redistricting Commission for 2026–2030 elections. Citing Trump’s Texas gerrymander (aiming to flip five seats Republican), Newsom’s measure greenlights a Democrat-favoring map, drawn by partisan legislators, to “fight fire with fire” by netting five Blue seats.

This violates California’s supermajority commission mandate, enshrined by voters in 2008 and 2010 to ban gerrymandering and protect communities of interest. It’s a naked power grab, costing taxpayers $200 million for a special election amid a $20 billion deficit, all to rig midterms and pave Newsom’s 2028 White House path.

Newsom treats voters as pawns, not people—ditching fair maps for partisan theft, just as he fibs about his silver-spoon youth to manipulate empathy.

This isn’t leadership; it’s larceny.

The House passed a straightforward CR on September 19 by a 217-212 vote, extending funding through November 21 at Fiscal Year 2025 levels—no frills, no riders, just a bridge to negotiate the full 12 appropriations bills later. This “clean” approach, endorsed by President Trump, would avert chaos for veterans, law enforcement, and everyday families while buying time for real reforms. However, in the Senate, Schumer and his allies have repeatedly blocked it, demanding a lengthy list of add-ons that would significantly increase the deficit and solidify progressive priorities. Their shorter-term counterproposal, through October 31, tacks on a permanent extension of enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies—costing $350 billion over a decade, per Republican estimates—and over $1 trillion in broader health program expansions, including Medicaid tweaks that open the door to subsidies for undocumented immigrants.

“Every single bit of this was entirely avoidable,” House Speaker Mike Johnson thundered at a press conference on October 1, slamming Democrats for refusing the clean CR they themselves passed 13 times under President Biden.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has been equally blunt, pleading for just five more Democratic votes to break the filibuster: “All it takes to reopen the government is cooperation from just five more Senate Democrats... There are clearly cracks on their side of the aisle.”

Three Democrats—Sens. John Fetterman (PA), Catherine Cortez Masto (NV), and independent Angus King (ME) defied their party on October 1, voting for the GOP plan.

But Schumer’s socialist squad—AOC, Bernie Sanders, and their ilk—remains dug in, turning what should be routine funding into a weaponized standoff. At the heart of the conservative fury are the “abusive, wasteful programs” Democrats are shamefully fighting to resurrect.

Leading the charge is Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy, the fiscal hawk whose folksy takedowns of D.C. bloat have gone viral. On the Senate floor last Friday, Kennedy laid bare the Democrats’ demands, accusing them of holding the government “hostage” to restore millions in “spending porn”—his signature term for taxpayer-funded absurdities. “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez got very, very upset, as did the socialist wing of the party, when the president sent over what’s called a rescission package,” Kennedy said. “Basically, President Trump just said we want you to take some stuff out of the budget that we think is wasteful, and we did.”

He rattled off examples from Trump’s $9.4 billion rescissions package, which Democrats now want reinstated: $3 million for an Iraqi “Sesame Street,” $3 million for circumcisions and vasectomies in Zambia, $500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda, and $67,000 to feed insect powder to kids in Madagascar. “Under former President Joe Biden, our federal government agreed to spend” on these “deeply weird, woke” projects, Kennedy wrote in a scorching New York Post op-ed. “If my colleagues still think this spending is necessary, they should vote no on his request. But here on planet Earth, the American people know they could be spending this money far better.”

In February, he praised Trump’s “prosecution” of waste: “These are the same people who have chosen to support illegal immigration over the rule of law... teachers’ unions over parents and kids... criminals over cops and victims.”

The senator’s point? Democrats’ CR demands aren’t about compassion—they’re about perpetuating a bloated bureaucracy that prioritizes globalist handouts over American priorities like border security and tax relief. Other conservatives echo Kennedy’s rage at the “absurd waste” and Democratic “games.” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), a leading voice against omnibus monstrosities, has blasted Schumer’s tactics as “obstruction” straight from the “far-left wish list,” tying the shutdown to Democrats’ refusal to cut $1.1 billion from NPR and PBS—”politically biased and activist media systems, at taxpayers’ expense.”

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good (R-VA) called the ACA push a “Trojan horse” for socialism: “Democrats are willing to furlough 900,000 federal workers just to subsidize their failing healthcare scheme—it’s absurd.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) mocked the impasse on X: “Schumer’s playing shutdown chicken while families suffer. Pass the clean CR and stop the games.”

The White House piled on, noting the CR maintains spending “50% more than in 2019” without a dime in cuts—yet Democrats cry crisis.

Democrats’ socialist arm sees the shutdown as leverage to embed irreversible spending, from ACA expansions that could add $662 billion to the deficit over 10 years (per CBO) to clawbacks on Trump’s tax cuts.

The result? Delayed IRS refunds, stalled disaster aid, and economic drag are estimated at $1-2 billion daily.

Polls show blame tilting toward Democrats, with 68% of independents siding with the clean CR.

Enough is enough. The American people didn’t elect a Congress to fund bug burgers in Madagascar or prop up failing entitlements—they want results. President Trump has provided the blueprint: Cut the waste, secure the border, and rebuild from within.
