During my time in the Marines from the late 70's to early 90's, the rules of war specify that each nation has territorial rights to air space and coastline. Any nation which violates another nations air space or coastline is an act of war on their part. In 87 I was offloaded from a Navy helicopter landing ship at Diego Garcia, in the Indian Ocean.. They kept a Company reinforced of single Marines only to send on the ship to the Persian Gulf. I said they can not do that, if they send even 1 Marine Iran can declare it a build up of US ground troops off their shore declaring it an act of war and they'd be justified in the eyes of the world according to the rules of war, they'll have to send it to the Persian Gulf with no Marines and if attacked, they can then send Marines to board the ship. My Bn Cmdr sent notice for me to be quite, but the WH notified the ship to offload the Marines 2 hours prior to it setting sail. The Iranians attacked the vessel and my Bn sent a Company reinforced to the Persian Gulf placing them on naval vessels and barges. So I knew what I was talking about. I don't think the rules of war have changed that much since then. We have CRT leadership, not political and military leadership. All nations has the right to fire upon any airship that invades their sovereign air space or coastal waters. Even every naval vessel has a space that can not be violated, if it is the ship has the right to fire upon the enemy plane or vessel that violates their space. Every plane has the right to fire upon any plane that violates its air space. But the Russians, Chinese, and Iran have been violating those rules for decades and nothing has been done. We had Chinese spy balloons flying over the US a few years ago and Joe shot 1 down after it went from Alaska to off the East Coast, but only because it went viral that he was doing nothing about them. They have been flying drones over US military bases right here in the US for some time now and my Senator says he's working on legislation to do something about it. Nonsense, the law governing Federal and Military airspace gives the Military the right to shoot down any plane that violates that airspace. They used to scramble Jets to intercept any plane that was getting close to their airspace and warn them to turn around or be shot down. I guess today Joe would rather offer them a free CRT manual and free tranny surgery all at tax payer expense.
