Dangerous Loophole that Must Be Stricken from Law

In May of 2021, Governor DeSantis boasted about the passage of SB2006, described as a landmark bill to ban vaccine passports and stem government overreach.

This legislation left a dangerous loophole providing for the health department the discretionary power to determine when forced vaccination and treatment for infectious diseases could be enforced, requiring an urgent amendment to defend Floridians body autonomy.

It’s time to call a special session to amend this statute before the next pandemic arises. This statute, in the hands of the wrong leadership, can be weaponized against Floridians, much like the attempts to force Vaxx Passports, Mask Mandates, and Government overreach this bill originally sought to prevent.

The power of government must be limited to a citizen’s body autonomy as an inalienable human right. The government shall not, under any circumstances, deprive us of our individual liberties, which includes defending absolute sovereignty over our body.

As it relates to a viral ‘pandemic’ public health emergency, the public health department must be limited to making public health announcements advising the public and allowing the public to determine what is the best course of action for themselves and their families. Regardless of the severity of the infectious disease, the public health department must be limited to orders for isolation and quarantine and, under NO circumstances, be permitted to force a treatment or vaccine on any person-it must be voluntary and without coercion or penalties of any kind.

This campaign calls on the state legislature to amend Florida statute 381.00315 Public health advisories; public health emergencies; isolation and quarantines, passed under 2021 Legislative Session SB2006

The recommended amendment under section 4 reads “All individuals may receive recommended vaccinations or treatments purely on a volunteer basis, without coercion or penalties of any kind.

Recommended strike through amendments includes all mentions of ‘infectious disease’, ‘vaccinations’, and ‘treatment.

We recommend a complete strike through on the most dangerous final clause under section 4(b) as shown below.

b. If the individual poses a danger to the public health, the State Health Officer may subject the individual to isolation or quarantine. If there is no practical method to isolate or quarantine the individual, the State Health Officer may use any means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual.
